Certified General Accountants of Ontario “WIN MORE” Contest (“Contest”) Rules
1. Eligibility: To be eligible to enter the Contest, an Entrant must: (1) be a resident of Ontario; (2) be eighteen (18) years old or older at the time of registration; (3) not be an employee of, or be living with an employee of, The Certified General Accountants of Ontario (“Sponsor”), any of its affiliated companies, representatives or agents, its advertising or promotional agencies or the Independent Contest Judging Organization (“Contest Parties”), whether related or not. Contest is void where prohibited by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
2. How to register for the Contest: No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win. To participate in the Contest, Entrants must visit the Contest Website Registration Page at www.cga-domore.org/winmore (“Website”), between September 26, 2012 at 9:59:01 a.m. ET and September 30, 2013 9:59:59 a.m. (“Full Contest Period”). There are twelve (12) Contest Periods (“Contest Period”) as indicated in section 5 below. The Contest Website Registration Page will require you to submit the following information: your full name, complete mobile or home telephone number, valid email address, date of birth, current school, and expected year of graduation. Once you have completed your registration for the contest you will receive one (1) entry into the Contest in accordance with rule 3-i below. Participants are not eligible to win if they are currently enroled in the CGA program.
3. How to Play: In order to participate in the Contest, the Entrant must visit the Website and register as described in rule 2. Once at the Website there are multiple ways to earn entries into the Contest.
i. Register for the Contest: Entrants may receive a maximum of one (1) Entry into the Draw (as defined below) for registering for the Contest at www.cga-domore.org/winmore (“Registration Entry”).
ii. Sign up for the Do More Newsletter: Entrants may receive a maximum of one (1) Entry into the Draw (as defined below) for signing up for the “Do More eNewsletter” (“Newsletter Entry”). Entrants must be ‘signed in’ by inputting their registered email address at the time of signing up for the Do More eNewsletter in order to receive an entry at www.cga-domore.org. You may unsubscribe from the “Do More Newsletter” at anytime without affecting your Newsletter Entry or your chances of winning a Prize in the Contest.
iii. Refer a friend: Entrants may receive entries into the Draw (as defined below) by referring friends or family members to enter the Contest. Entrants may refer their friends or family members by visiting www.cga-domore.org, signing in, and entering the unique name and unique email address of their friends or family in the space provided. The referred email addresses will only be used by the Sponsor for the purpose of contacting your friend(s) or family, on your behalf, to provide information about the Contest so they can sign up if they choose to do so and will not be added to any direct marketing list or used in any direct marketing programs without their consent. There is no maximum number of friends an Entrant can invite during the Contest Period. An Entrant cannot invite the same friend or family member more than once. Each friend or family member will be sent an email containing a link to the Do More website www.cga-domore.org. This email will indicate that it has been sent on your behalf and will identify you. You may only invite friends or family from whom you have received permission to provide their email address to the Sponsor, and by whom an email from you or Sponsor would not be considered spam or otherwise objectionable. For the purposes of this clause, you may only refer friends with whom you have had a two way communication within the past two years, and who you have met in person. You may only refer family members to whom you are related by blood relationship, marriage, a common-law partnership, or adoption. Entrants will receive one (1) entry for each unique friend or family member they refer during the Full Contest Period who visits the website www.cga-domore.org (via the link in the email) and registers for the Contest for the first time in accordance with these Rules (“Refer a Friend Entry”).
iv. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an Entry, Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of Entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the person who is assigned an email address by an internet provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institute, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. An Entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the selected Entry and that he/she has all necessary consents, permissions and/or licenses as required by these Rules. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid Entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s). All Entries are subject to verification. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor) to participate in this Contest. Failure to provide such proof in a timely manner may result in disqualification.
4. Prizes and Odds of Winning: During the Contest Period there will be one (1) Grand Prize, one (1) Secondary Prize available to be won as follows:
i. “Grand Prize”: The Grand Prize consists of a $2,500 credit redeemable towards any Certified General Accountants of Ontario professional studies program fees as listed in Sponsor's "Course Fee Schedule" (http://cga-domore.org/articles/course-fees-and-schedule).
ii. “Secondary Prizes”: The Secondary Prize consists of a $750 credit redeemable towards any Certified General Accountants of Ontario professional studies program fees as listed in Sponsor's "Course Fee Schedule" (http://cga-domore.org/articles/course-fees-and-schedule)
NOTE: Credits must be used within 12 months from the date the winner graduates from university or college and may be applied against any number of courses until the full value of the credit has been used. If a winner has already graduated from university or college their credits must be used within 12 months from the date that the winner signs the Declaration & Release form submitted to the contest administrator.
Collectively, the Grand Prize and the Secondary Prizes are “Prizes”. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any Prize in its sole discretion for a prize of equal or greater value. Any additional costs, taxes, charges or other fees incurred in using any Prize are the winner’s sole responsibility. There is a limit of one (1) Grand Prize, or one (1) Secondary Prize per person.
5. The Draw: The draw will take place two business days after the end of each Contest Period at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET, in Toronto, Ontario, Grip Limited (the “Independent Contest Judging Organization”) will randomly select two (2) eligible entries from among all of the eligible Entries received prior to the Draw date. On the Draw date, the first entry so selected will be eligible to win a Grand Prize, the second entry so selected will be eligible to win a Secondary Prize.
The odds of winning a Grand Prize, or Secondary Prize depend on the total number of Entries received prior to the Draw Date.

6. Winner Notification: The potential winners will be notified using the telephone number or email address they provided during registration, within two (2) business days from the applicable draw date. Three attempts will be made to notify the potential winners. No phone messages will be left and the Independent Contest Judging Organization must speak directly to the potential winner. The potential winner will decide if they want the Prize Notification Package via the email address they provided during registration, or via courier. The potential winner will be asked to provide their mailing address in order to distribute the Prize Notification Package via courier. The Prize Notification Package will contain the Sponsor’s standard Declaration & Release Form, which includes a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question. BEFORE BEING DECLARED THE WINNER OF ANY PRIZE each selected Entrant will be required to complete, sign and return the Declaration & Release Form via email, mail or fax to the Independent Contest Judging Organization within five business (5) days of the Prize Notification Package being sent to the potential winner, which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Prize as awarded; (iii) releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Releasees”) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof; and (iv) agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of his/her name, address, voice, statements about the Contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet.
The Prize will be forfeited if the skill-testing question is answered incorrectly and/or the properly executed Declaration & Release Form is not received by the Independent Contest Judging Organization within the time period specified above; and a disqualification message will be sent to the disqualified Entrant. If a potential winner is disqualified, the Contest Judging Organization reserves the right to hold another draw. Prize in question will not be awarded. The Sponsor is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected potential winner to receive notification or for the Independent Contest Judging Organization or the Sponsor to receive a selected potential winner’s completed Declaration & Release Form within the prescribed time.
7. Additional Terms: By participating in the Contest, each Entrant agrees to: i) be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the Independent Contest Judging Organization and the Sponsor which shall be final and binding in all respects; and ii) release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor, any of its affiliated companies, representatives or agents, its advertising or promotional agencies and the Independent Contest Judging Organization and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability, claims, damages, demands, actions, or causes of action, whatsoever, which they, their heirs, successors, assigns, executors, or administrators may now or hereafter have directly or indirectly against them or any of them in respect of or relating to the Contest and/or acceptance, use, misuse, or possession of a Prize.
The Sponsor reserves the right to revise, amend, suspend or cancel the Contest or these Official Contest Rules. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and without prior notice, to adjust any of the dates and/or timeframes stipulated in these Rules, to the extent necessary, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant or Entry with these Rules, or as a result of technical problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these English Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to: the Contest entry form, and/or point of sale, television, print or online advertising; the terms and conditions of these English Rules shall prevail, govern and control.
8. Limitation of Liability: The Sponsor assumes no responsibility or liability for: print or typographical errors in any Contest-related materials; lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, faulty, incomplete, or misdirected Entries; any failure of the Contest Website during the Contest Period; or for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an Entrant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from playing or downloading any material relating to the Contest. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Contest should a virus, bug, fraud, tampering, or other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website, including the Contest Website, or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Privacy Policy: By entering this Contest, each Entrant agrees and consents to the Sponsor, any of their affiliated companies, representatives or agents, its advertising or promotional agencies or the Independent Contest Judging Organization, storing and using the personal information submitted during registration only for the purpose of administering the Contest in accordance with these Official Contest Rules and the Sponsor’s privacy policy found at www.cga-ontario.org/privacy.aspx, unless an Entrant otherwise agrees.
10. Publicity: By accepting a Prize, each winner agrees to the use by the Sponsor and/or its designates of his/her name, city, and/or photograph, for advertising and publicity purposes without further compensation or notice.
